Create a Gift Box

Making a gift box for the special people in your life is so rewarding and much better than just handing something over 

I have not used any dies for the basic shape only to add the pattern in the sides and lid of one of them.

But it looks just as good if it is left plain ... or if you have patterned card then see what effect that has on the finished project

The fun part is how you dress this box up in your individual style

 I have chosen to make both of mine match the item that is going to be placed inside it

You will need three matching pieces of card for the sides and lid to your box and to get accurate measuring I have used a scoreboard

And I have used the Spellbinders Interlocking Heart to produce the pattern on the side, and Majesty for the lid

I have also lined the inside of the patterned box with Acetate for extra strength 

The main reason for these boxes has been that over the last few weeks I have added two tutorials on how to make a gift

This  Pop Up Box  is created without using any dies at all 

It is dressed with flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts  and I have done it for a baby gift

The best advice I can give you is to make a Template before you start with your best card and keep it for future reference with all the measurements written on it

All the dies used are listed on the page and I have dressed the outer box with the same flowers for a co-ordinated look

You will see that the outer box has also been kept plain to give you the choice of how you want yours to look
