Matching gift tag when making windowed cards

by Sophie
(Christchurch, New Zealand)

When making my own trifold window cards I am often using spellbinders rectangles etc. to cut out the window.
Using the cutout piece for a matching gift tag, makes a very nice touch!

Christina says ...

This cut out piece can be decorated to match the theme of the card, and if not as a tag then maybe to mount the sentiment on to.

Even if you don't use it on the same project don't throw it away.

Keep all your odds and ends in a box because you never know when you will need.

Lost die(s) identifying picture
by: Lynda

If you've lost, or mistakenly thrown away the identifying sheet that came with your dies, look on the Internet for a stockist, or the brand name, if known to identify a web site that stocks 'your' die(s). Locate your die(s) in their stock, then print the picture shown on their web site.

It's not an ideal solution, but is better than nothing and at least tells you how many dies should be in your set.

Using die to cut windows
by: Maggie

I never thought of doing this. Just new to Crafting cards. Only got my grand calibur at the end of January and this is something that had not crossed my mind, 'til now.
Thanks.

I was trying to cut out windows by hand and always made a mess.

At the moment, I only have 4 Spellbinder dies and two other cheap ones that can't be used for embossing. Anyway, one of the Spellbinder dies would be perfect for the windows.

One of my first mistakes. Throwing away the packaging to remind me what the dies are called. :(

Christina says ...

There is a video to show you how to create an aperture in your cards in the Video Tutorials Section

Take a look in the Spellbinders Series for lots of hints and tips on suing these wonderful dies.

There is even a video to suggest a starter selection that you can make many beautiful cards with

The tutorial uses one of the suggested Spellbinders but you can use any that you have in your growing "Stash"

Throwing away the original packaging is a mistake you won't repeat .... and if you add the picture of the die to some magnetic sheeting then you will always know what that die is ... how many dies are in the set ... and see if one is missing from them.

Happy Crafting xx
