iris folds /fancy folds
by: Elizabeth

The crane is lovely & well done, however this technique is not iris folding, but is known as fancy folds. Iris folding has the papers rotating so that they appear to recede. if you look at the lens on a camera that can be opened to reduce/increase light, that is an "iris". There are many designs for iris folding for free on the net & I include a link here for a pattern site:
http://www.iris-folding.com/PetCorner.html

Here you will see the difference & hope you find this useful.

iris folding paper
by: Valerie

Lindsay,I use inexpensive shiny papers & have also used wrapping paper & holographic paper as used to cover books! Anything goes as long as it's not too stiff!

Valerie all your Iris Folding cards are beautiful. I have tried some but am wondering if you use a special type paper to do them.

Any other kiwi on line ?
by: Padua

Was looking for an interest I can do at home, as I am a care giver, and nights would be an ideal time.

Would like to find any groups or artists in NZ
to exchange links etc
