Cards for a cause

by Colette Belanger
(Gatineau Quebec Canada)

As you can see the cards are very simple, I use a stamp, dye ink and alcohol markers. And I’m still learning the coloring technique.

I started making cards a couple of years ago thinking that I wasn’t very good at it. But finally they were a success. Families, friends and co-workers wanted more and more.

I started to sell them at work during the charitable campaign and all the contribution from the cards went to a cause and still do.

This pass year during the holidays and Valentines coming up, we collected $200 to give to the Canadian Red Cross. We choose the Red Cross because of their involvement during the terrible flood last spring in Gatineau.

Some stamps used were purchased at a ward sale and, of course, I watch different video from everywhere I can find on the Web for different techniques but my favourite one is Card-Making-Magic, I learn so much.

Thank you for such a wonderful web site for card making inspiration.

Happy Card ‘making Day!

Hello and welcome to the Gallery and thank you so much for adding your creations. Each one is lovely and would suit a number of occasions but my favourite one has to be the third with the simple flower.

That is so elegant and beautifully coloured and I hope you will add many more Cxx

Hi Colette
I love all your cards but my favourite has got to be the first one. I love how you have done the background. I think it is a good idea to make cards for a charity - I donate some of my cards to a west highland white rescue to be auctioned off to raise funds
