I was given this tip and I have found it really good. Instead of trying to add glue to small embellishments like Happy Birthday and Good Wishes etc., put a long piece of sponge into a container and pour wet glue and mix with some water leave to settle a bit. All you have to do is dab whatever you want to stick and lift with tweezers so easy. You don't even have to put any on the back of your hand and there is also no wastage you only use what you need. It lasts for ages as long as you remember to put the lid on.
