Paper Scraps

by Christine
(Ohio)

I finally gave in! My scraps of paper were unmanageable in a drawer. I could never find the color I wanted only to give up and use an entire piece just for a flower or decorative corner.

But I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.

So one afternoon during Christmas break, I armed myself with music and diet drinks and sorted through all the paper.

I started out with the primary colors and then also took all the blues, pinks, lavendars etc. and put them in separate piles.

I bought some plastic archival envelopes at my local craft store and oh-so-proudly organized those scraps that I could not throw away. I found a box that the envelopes could sit upright, and now have it within easy reach.

Amazing how many times I go to it first and how easy it is to find what I need, when I need it.

I can imagine your frustration coz I have been there many times myself... and how annoying when you have cut into another sheet of paper ...to find a scrap with the exact bit on it that you need.

So I have done the same thing as you and I store my papers in colour collections too.

Now when I want a pink paper I can take out my folder and sift through the pink papers that I have until I find the one I need.
