Card/Paper Scraps Storage

by Linda
(UK)

At the side of my workdesk I have a small box.

It holds a lot of clear A4 sleeves (like you use in ring binders) all standing upright so the tops are immediately accessible.

In each one I can drop any odd scraps of card/paper by colour.

Then when I want, say, a bit of pink card for a flower, or a small bit of green for punching out leaves for a design, or gold for backing a greeting plaque, I pick up the sleeve containing all the pink bits or green bits, etc. have a quick look through.

And voilla I haven't wasted a whole sheet for one small thing.

It often has the added bonus of reminding me of the less well used stuff I still have in my stash!! (tut tut!!)

Hope somebody finds this useful.

Thanks for the tip Linda, it is a good way to store all your odd scraps of paper.

I do a similar thing with all mine too, and then when I want to make a quick card they are on hand.

Don't forget there are some ideas for using your scraps up on the website...using circle punches, or paper piecing, which is a fun technique to try.
