I wanted to give my new husband a really special card, so I made it.

It took about 3 weeks to make as I gave it a lot of thought between each stage.

He was very emotional reading it as it is the first time he has married and emotional for me too as it's the first time I made a Wedding card for my husband.( I have been married previously)

I was a cross stitcher for over 20 years and made some cards in that media, but became a paper crafter about 10 years ago.

I do make them for friends and family and have never made two that are identical yet.

I have been commissioned to make cards in the past for special occasions, but it is not something I would do full time.

Wedding cards can be as special as you care to make them and this one from Elizabeth is really lovely.

It must have taken a lot of thought to create something like this and I am not surprised that your new husband was delighted with it.

I, and all the visitors to the website wish you both all the happiness in the world. And thank you for sharing your very special card with us.

wedding card construction

hello Edith, I used double sided tape to fasten pages together. The vellum is the hardest to do because the tape shows through. So I put something on the other side so it was hidden. You can use brads to fix vellum to something.I hope you will show us your card when complete:)

Hello again Elizabeth.

I am now in the process of making a wedding card.

You very kindly sent in what you used to make your card.

Can you please inform me as to how you actually assembled it into a book form.

Regards

Edith

It is lovely to have such compliments on the Wedding card.
The outside is A4 pre-patterned 350gsm from Hunky Dory.(Located in Preston UK).
I then used patterned A4 which I trimmed a little smaller to make the first insert pages. Then A4 patterned parchment paper trimmed smaller & the final insert is plain white copy paper.A mixture of white ribbon, self adhesive half pearls, lace, silver patterned background paper, & a couple of stickers & it was complete. I decorated an envelope to match. It is the most complicated & ornate card I have ever made & I got so much pleasure from making it & giving it.
