Embossing Buddy

by Sandii Easthope
(Canada)

I was trying to figure out how to stop the small particles of ink from staying on my card when I was heat embossing.

I had heard of embossing buddies but didn't want to spend the money. I tried lots of things and finally came up with a toddlers sock filled with Corn Starch.

It worked so well I told all my card making friends and every time the toddlers in my home loose a sock (which the dryer eats with regularity I swear) I keep it for card making friends and fill it for their embossing buddies.

Christina says ...

This is such a good idea and one I have used for a long time.

But many people don't know about Embossing Buddies or to give them their proper name Anti-static bags

When you are working the grease from your hands can mark the paper, card or acetate.

Because these marks are moist then any embossing powder you are using will stick to the marks and spoil your work.

A quick wipe over with an anti-static bag, before you stamp your image, will stop any loose powders sticking to them and so leave your work clean and tidy.

Using the foot of an old pair of tights (Clean of course) is just as good, for those that don't have any toddlers available to lose socks.
